June 2024 Newsletter

Dear Patients and Families,

Summer is almost here, and I find myself enjoying the warmth more and more each year. With the increasing heat, I might even consider opening a satellite clinic in Arizona, especially since several of my patients reside there.

As we bid farewell to May and welcome June, I encourage you to celebrate Parents’ Day. What is Parents’ Day, you ask? In the spirit of AAPI – Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I’d like to share a piece of Korean culture with you. After all, your family physician was awarded top AAPI doctor in the United States. In Korea, we celebrate Parents’ Day to honor both mothers and fathers. It’s a national holiday where we show our respect and gratitude by spending the entire day with our parents. At our clinic, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming over 140 children into our program. When I started our concierge medicine service a few years ago, I didn’t expect to have so many young parents with young children joining. Accepting kids into our concierge program has kept us very busy, and I hope your children appreciate all the hard work and sacrifices you make for them. I strive to be worthy of the trust you place in me to care for their health.

This year has been particularly challenging for me as it marks my first year without my parents. My father passed away last year, and my mother this year. Parents’ Day was especially tough, and I found myself missing them deeply. My two older brothers and I were able to honor our parents at one of their favorite places, the Grand Canyon, on my father’s birthday, May 18th. This experience has made me cherish my role as a parent even more, and I hope my children recognize the effort and sacrifices I make for them.

As we head into the summer months, remember to spend quality time with your family and loved ones as life is so precious and enjoy the sunshine. And most importantly, don’t forget to wear your sunscreen!

Yours truly,

Dr. Suh
